Outfit 28 - Black Lace Top + Black Floral Skirt

This lace top was originally thrifted to be a vest.  I would need to make some changes to it, so I decided to wear it as a top first.  You can't see it because it's tucked in, but this shirt is actually somewhat's meant to display the bellybutton!  Okay, maybe I'm just too conservative, but it didn't look right on me, hence it's tucked in.  ^_^

The skirt also has a floral pattern on it.

Here's a black cardigan to top it off. :)

I decided I needed something not-black to accessorize with, so I used my white purse as a contrast.

My mom originally bought these shoes for herself but ended up giving them to me many many years ago.  I had kept them in the closet all this time because honestly, I thought they were a bit too chunky for the times.  Fast forward to now and chunky is in again, but the question is....for how long??!! =P

  1. the black lace top is so pretty! very versatile!

  2. Oh no...I must like scandalous items b/c I really like that top. Also, F21 is selling an almost exact dupe of your skirt (I think it's called the jacquard floral skirt); I wanted to get it, but I have a dress in a similar material.

    LOVE getting stuff from my mum. ;D

  3. haha QFFS, you scandalous you!!! I adore the lace top but perhaps you should pair it with a more neutral bottom? too many prints might be overwhelming hehehe...

  4. I love that tucking a top in can hide it's scandalous nature LOL. The wedges look good on you! The important question is whether or not they are comfy :)

  5. I love the white bag! As you probably noticed in my post today, I recently thrifted a white purse I looove! -Rachel

  6. haha, you are so cute with your scandalous thrifted items lately! I don't think chunky sandals would ever go out of style since celebrities always wear clunky shoes as far as I can remember and still see them in fashion magazines. Plus, my mom loves those kind of platform sandals too! I need to find more for my mom since her collection are all getting worned out.

  7. i'm the same way about my belly! i love how you paired different textures in the same color. it really looks gorgeous on you!

  8. That top is going to make a such a great vest! It's cute as it is too--although I believe you about the weird length...definitely a good move to tuck it in! It looks great that way!

  9. Very cute! I love a monochromatic look that mixes textures.

    @two birds - Awww, thanks! :)

    @simple subtle style - Thanks!
