Outfit 59 - Light Blue Chambray Shirt + Browns

Happy 2012 everyone!!  Sorry I disappeared off the face of the earth for the past 3 months....I have an excuse though!  I mean, aside from the cold/uninspired excuse I used last entry.  =P  How shall I say this?  Let's just say.....you are going to see me gradually expand in the next couple of months!!  (If ya know what I mean, *Wink Wink, nudge nudge* ^_~)  I'm on Week 12!  :)

I know it's no excuse for not keeping up with my beloved fashion bloggers though, but for awhile, I kinda felt unmotivated to be creative.  Plus, I have placed myself on a clothing shopping ban indefinitely, except for emergencies, of course.  =P  I'm going to miss thrifting a lot, but I will try to make due with what I have at the moment.  I should be taking advantage of my button-up shirts and non-expandable clothing while I can!  And, without further adieu.....

I'm honing in on the browns!

This skort fits very snuggly.  I'll have to retire it soon!  :/

So hopefully you'll be seeing more of me in the future, twice a week, I hope!!  Maybe someone needs to prod me! :)

Outfit 58 - Plaid Button-Up Tunic

Sorry I've been MIA!!  The weather has taken a turn for the worse....okay, not super bad, but it has gotten a lot colder, and I admit I'm kinda a pansy once cold weather hits and terribly uncreative, outfit-wise.  So, I'm going to try to challenge myself to create better outfits that aren't just jeans + plain long-sleeved shirt + scarf + jacket.  I'll attempt to give my short-sleeved shirts some love!  Anyway, this is an old outfit post I've had laying around for awhile.  I would definitely NOT go out with bare legs in this weather!  :P

This Forever21 tunic is one of those purchases where I knew it wasn't going to last, in terms of quality, but it's thrifted, so it makes it slightly okay!  Have you ever bought anything that you knew was going to fall apart?  It's true what they say about Forever21 and their quality, but there are SOME things that surprisingly last.  I cannot come up with an example yet.  I'll let you know when I encounter that item!

I saw lots of potential when I first thifted this purple vest.  I mainly picked it up because it was from Express, and it was this bright purple that I love!

Since then, I've had trouble incorporating it into my wardrobe.  I feel like the straps in the front are awkwardly narrow.

Sparkly belt and glittery shoes! That's one way to draw subtle attention to myself!  The cardigan looks kinda bulky in this picture!  >_<

Outfit 57 - Plaid Maxi Dress

Here I am, looking matronly again.  This must be a maxi dress thing!  >_<  I hope this pattern is plaid!  I could be wrong!

I threw on a magenta cardigan and added a belt.  :D  Simple!

Grrrrr, my feet look so big yet again, relatively speaking!  =P

Another side view.

Outfit 56 - Black Lace Mini Skirt

Yep, I had been seeing this type of lace skirt on many *many* fashion bloggers (but in white), so when I found this at Goodwill for $4.50, of course I took it home with me!  The best part (aside from the price), is that it was from the brand Esprit, and the original tags were still attached!  Wait wait, the TRULY best part is that it FIT!  (Too well, maybe?  Can't gain any extra weight though!)  There have been many times when I've had to pass up something cute/awesome because it didn't fit properly, and it's kinda a disappointing feeling, but of course, it limits my shopping by a lot, thankfully!  :D  Can you imagine a world where everything that you picked up just fit you perfectly like a glove?  Yeah, that sounds like an expensive world!  Hahaha.

Hmmmm....I barely realized how short this skirt appears from these pictures!  Hahaha.

Here's a better look of the lace.  The belt also has a special place in my thrifty heart because it is among one of the first items I've ever thrifted.  It was back when I hadn't stepped foot in a Goodwill, so in retrospect, the prices at this thrift store weren't that low, but they were certainly a lot lower than paying full price (at TJ Maxx, Marshalls or Ross!! Bwhahaha)!  This belt also has a vintage look-and-feel to it.  It's definitely something I imagined my mother would have worn back in the 70's or 80's.  It's elastic and adjustable too!  :D  I am embarrassed to admit I paid $7 for this belt, but since then, I haven't spent over $2 on subsequent belts.  *Phew*

And, what better way to accessorize than with a fake Chanel purse!  Hahahaha.  I received some positive feedback the last time I introduced my other dupe.  The feedback was in regards to my insecurity of owning and using a dupe, but as long as I don't try to pass it off as the real thing and as long as I don't care about what others think, then it might as well be just another purse.  Simple as that!  :D  Rationalization, complete!

Outfit 55 - Red Floral Midi Dress

I thrifted this dress with the full intention of hemming it, but also tried to pass it off as a maxi skirt first.  Too bad it isn't maxi and more of a "midi," which might not look the best on my short stature!

Here's the first cardigan I paired it with.  It's pretty safe.  I also wish I had a more contrasting shoe color!  Hmmmm...in retrospect, I do!  Next time!  :D

The next cardigan is brighter.

I'm still intending on altering this for sure, but in the mean time, I don't mind looking matronly!!  Maybe I should save this in the pregnancy-clothing box!  Hahahaha.  This soooo looks like the typical baby bump pose - and it even looks like I have a tiny bump!!  Oh boy!

I love the floral pattern on this dress, which can be seen better here.  I thrifted that particular pendant in 4 different colors!  Insane much?  I think my mother found the bracelet from a garage sale.  I don't even know if she knows I took it!  Hehehe.

Outfit 54 - Black Sleeveless Floral Dress

This is a Target dress that I thrifted for a price of a shirt.  It's also what I would have paid if I had found this dress in the 75% off rack at an actual Target.  It's sleeveless and stretchy at the top, but I wisely chose to cover my protruding armpit flab.  =P

Look!  Pockets!!

Side view.  :D  Is my cardigan considered a "bolero"?  It's a new word I learned from Bessie at Bravoe Runway, though I hope I'm using the word correctly! It's probably kinda hard to tell from these pictures!  =P

Better view of my purse.  I know I had lusted over the black Chanel chained purse, and after I bought a good dupe of it, I found this purse at Goodwill!  It's different enough, but if I had found this first, I probably wouldn't have gotten the other purse!

My first time wearing this particular gold belt.  It has crystals embedded into it.  It's a really ratty looking belt, but I thrifted it anyway cuz it was just $1, and it fits at the waist.  Also, I guess you can say it adds "character." :D  (The excuses!)

Outfit 53 - Black Maxi Dress

I have another maxi dress to add to my collection!  I just hope it's "maxi" enough.    I found the fit to be perfect on me, though I don't actually know the ideal length a maxi skirt should hit on the bottom.

I knew I had wanted to try this tied-shirt thing with the maxi dress first.

Side view!  The shoes and the shirt sorta-kinda match. Sorta.  :D

I decided to try on some flats.  I think I might prefer the extra height of the first pair of shoes.  =/

The necklace I'm wearing is the Astoria Necklace from Jewelmint.com.  I was gifted a Groupon that allowed me to select two pieces from the site.  :) I don't really think anything on Jewelmint is truly worth $30.  >_<  I do love this necklace though!

Outfit 52 - Sheer Floral Tunic + Blue Skirt

I bought this sheer tunic because it fit well.  Fit comes first!  I definitely knew I wanted to wear it as a dress, but in retrospect, it would've been kinda short.  Sooooo, I was super excited that I figured to wear a skirt underneath to add length!  Again, I know this is a "duh" thing, but it's my first time!  Hahaha.  =P

Of course, since I had a perfectly matching cardigan on hand, I had to wear it!

I added a flower pin.  Pinning stuff on my shirts/sweaters makes me sad though!  :(

I realized I matched every color in this outfit, the blues, reds, and greens, and perhaps even the yellow on the tunic goes with the gold from the necklace and pendant.  :D

Outfit 51 - Forest Green Embellished Shirt + Shorts

Oooh, both of these items are repeats!  Go me!  So this is what it must feel like to do the 30x30 Remix!  =P  It's hard work!!  Ahahahaha!   You know what I'm kinda self-conscious about?  Tan lines!!!  I wear skirts so often that when it comes time to wear shorts, the thighs are definitely less tanned than the calves!  >_<  I guess there's really no way around it, huh?  Unless I apply sunless-tanner to try to compensate.  Hmmmm....

I've actually worn the exact same shoes with this particular shirt.  The embellishments seem to match.

Errrrrrrm, so I know I certainly don't need anymore "cute" or quirky t-shirts in my wardrobe.  I'm too "grown-up" for that sort of thing, right???  WEEEELLLL......I just *COULD NOT* resist getting this shirt from Threadless!  I mean, HOW CUTE is that little sushi to the right, right???!!!! (It's so cute, I wanna scratch my eyeballs out!!!  0.o)  By the way, from now until October 11th,  all their t-shirts are only $10, with free shipping when you spend $60!  I love buying quirky shirts for the husband though.  *Sigh*  Guys have it so easy!  T-shirt + Jeans, and DONE!!  But, I think us girls definitely have more fun with our wardrobe styling options = LIMITLESS!

Outfit 50 - Navy Blue Skirt + Blue Sequin Belt

I'm not sure how pencil skirts are suppose to fit, or even what constitutes as a pencil skirt, but I will refer to this skirt as such unless someone corrects me!  :D  This fits super well at the waist...a little too well!  ^_^;;;;;

The picture doesn't show it, but the belt is actually quite sparkly in person.  =P  I think it's most likely a kid's belt.  This belt is very uncharacteristic of me, but I'm stepping outside of my comfort zone little by little.  :D

Here's the purse for this outfit.

And, of course, a cardigan.  I don't know why I'm pulling my finger in this picture, nor did I ever understand those "Pull my finger" jokes on TV....I still don't get it!  Maybe someone can explain it to me!  =P
