Outfit 37 - Blue-Green Crochet Top with Beading

This is one out of the three tops that I own that contains beading.  I usually avoid stuff like that because I fear they will fall off in the washing machine, but life's too short to not own clothing with semi-intricate details.  =D  This top is more see-through than it would let on.  ;P

I think I'm trying to show how low my heels are.  That's actually the height I prefer!  Also, this pose kinda reminds me of Sailor Moon!  Hehehehe.

The largest flower reminds me of a starfish.  In fact, I think this is the first time I've realized that it's actually a flower.  I felt this top had a beach-y feel to it because I thought they were starfishes.

Here's a close-up of the "starfish," and now you can see just how see-through this shirt is!

Thanks for sharing your stories and insight from the last entry regarding wedding rings and losing things.  Yes, must figure out a designated area for important things and remember to put things back where they belong!  That has always been a problem of mine!  My mother has the same problem, so I think it's learned!  =P  Oh, the excuses!

Anyway, on a different and another random note, does anyone know of any good solutions to an indoor mosquito problem?  We've had just one or two spoil our sleep at night because we awaken to their buzzing around our ears!  It seriously freaks me out when that happens and we lose precious sleep over this!  We've started turning on the fan to try and steer it off course while we sleep, but that just means it's still roaming around somewhere else indoors!  We live right next to a man-made pond/stream, so that probably explains where they come from!  *Sigh*

  1. I thought they were starfish too! That is a really fun top... and I'm going to keep saying starfish because the top definitely looks beachy.

  2. That crochet top would make a perfect beach attire....like coverup for bikini top! I would pretend the flowers are starfishes too, haha. Sailor moon pose is so cute!

  3. :)) Sailor Moon pose... that brings me back to my childhood! Very cute top, I must say.

    As for the mosquitoes problem, back home we used to keep lemongrass around as a natural mosquito repellent - I don't remember how well it work, but at least it smells good.

  7. @K Blue - Hehehe. I'm going to have to agree with you on the starfish there! :D

    @Olyvia - I totally see it as a beach cover-up too! Too bad I ain't going to the beach anytime soon!

    @Salazar - Yes, I LOVED Sailor Moon as a teenager and adult! Hahahaha. I've heard of using lemongrass or citronella. I'll have to try lemongrass first though! Seems easier to find! Thanks for the suggestion!

    @april@gingerbread - Thanks!

    @SewPetiteGal - Awww, thanks! :D

    @simplychic - Thanks!

    @aki! - Thanks! I guess beading + florals does equate to being girly! =P

  8. I love the top and skirt, adorable! As for the mosquitoes, you could try one of those yellow no-pest strips. Also, you could put gold fish into the pond. They will repopulate and take care of the mosquito population. That's what we did.
