Outfit 55 - Red Floral Midi Dress

I thrifted this dress with the full intention of hemming it, but also tried to pass it off as a maxi skirt first.  Too bad it isn't maxi and more of a "midi," which might not look the best on my short stature!

Here's the first cardigan I paired it with.  It's pretty safe.  I also wish I had a more contrasting shoe color!  Hmmmm...in retrospect, I do!  Next time!  :D

The next cardigan is brighter.

I'm still intending on altering this for sure, but in the mean time, I don't mind looking matronly!!  Maybe I should save this in the pregnancy-clothing box!  Hahahaha.  This soooo looks like the typical baby bump pose - and it even looks like I have a tiny bump!!  Oh boy!

I love the floral pattern on this dress, which can be seen better here.  I thrifted that particular pendant in 4 different colors!  Insane much?  I think my mother found the bracelet from a garage sale.  I don't even know if she knows I took it!  Hehehe.

  1. I like it with the red cardigan, but yeah, hem it for sure! I'm short too (and short legs on top of that) so midi anything always looks kinda awkward on me.

  2. Midi length is a hard one for me to feel comfortable in. The pattern is really cute and I think it'll look fresh as a shorter dress! You could wear it for fall with boots, and maybe a longish cardi in a neutral like camel. Camel and red is a fave!

  3. I really like it with the red cardigan too. It actually makes you appear quite tall and slim.

I didn't know you watched Doctor Who. Or I just forget. I can't wait until season 5.

  4. Your silly lady- there isn't even a hint of a baby bump. You should see me in my side pose LOL!

I like the brighter cardi with the dress. I think it adds a more youthful feel to it. I love that pendant too :)

  5. Love your blog. I am 5'1" and do not blog but I have learned so much by following you and other petite fashionistas, especially the petite fashion challenges. I have a suggestion: Outerwear can be particularly challenging for petites. Why not a PFC called OUTERWEAR CHIC.. This would be helpful with the cold winter months approaching...The look could be dressy or casual and must include an outerwear garment appropriate for being outdoors in inclement weather.
