Outfit 21 - Bright and Big Floral Patterned Skirt

*Gasp* A shirt and skirt combination where I did not wear a belt for the sake of wearing one!  Hahaha.  =P  I was actually quite hesitant about not putting one on, but that was only because I didn't have one that I liked for this particular skirt.

This skirt and I go waaaaaaay back.  In fact, it hails from 1995, when I was just 11 years old.  (Uh oh, I just dated myself!! >_<)  Back then, I would only wear it for special occasions, so it's still in very good condition.  Maybe things were made to last back then. ^_^;;;;

The purse is actually from one of my latest thrifting adventures.  I went to Goodwill right as the store was opening at 9AM and went straight to the purse section.  The early bird catches the worm!  There were several purses that caught my eye, this being my favorite of the day!  :)

This particular purse is from Anne Klein.  I don't know how old it is, but I found an old (unused) bandage and a random pill in one of the pockets, and they both certainly looked old.  =P

  2. no way! that skirt is from when you are 11! I don't think I've kept anything that long cause I keep purging my closet like I'm doing now,haha. That skirt still looks great and in style. I love how you wear your skirts higher up on the waist, which makes you look tall! For some reason, I can't seem to find skirts that are worn higher up on me (thus bad proportion). And that purse is super cute! I would have snatched that too, if I saw it at the store.

  3. I can't believe you've had that skirt since 1995. Amazing that you've kept it in such great shape and that it looks like new (and on trend). You definitely didn't need a belt with the outfit and your blouse is very cute. The purse is a great find!

  4. Whoah! I always wonder if I'm going to regret getting rid of clothes now that might come back in style later. Especially because I love vintage. I love that skirt, and it's awesome that it's so up to date!

  5. i LOVE it when clothes last so long, and are still relevant. I also have an Old Navy coral paisley dress (looks better than it sounds lol) that I've had since I was 16 so it's about a decade old and I still wear it every summer. I love it!

    Your sandals and skirt are super cute! Thanks for visiting my blog ;)

  6. I love the bright florals on this skirt! Also loving the bow detail on the purse - you have such a good eye for thrifting! Maybe one day I'll live in an area where there are actual treasures to be found rather than old clothes from Big Lots :P

  7. @hurricanekerrie - Thanks! I agree with clothing that lasts a lifetime! Hopefully this skirt will stay with me forever!

    @Olyvia - Awww, thanks for the compliments of appearing tall! Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :D

    @questforfashionsense - I guess I didn't really wear it often enough in the past to get it in bad shape! Thanks!

    @Bri - I know how you feel about getting rid of clothes! I feel especially regretful of the clothes that are too small for me. I keep thinking I can fit into them one day! Delusional, I know!

    @Ana Degenaar - Thanks, Ana!

    @Karla - Would love to see this coral paisley dress of yours! :D

    @SewPetiteGal - Hehehe. You know, you can just go thrifting on vacations! ^_~ Ewww, old Big Lots clothes at your local thrift store? No wonder you stay away!
