Outfit 15 - Black and Green Dress + Candy Wrapper Purse

I like when I find a "dress" that is actually meant to be a shirt for someone taller.  =P

I combined it with an ivory lace shirt underneath.   I don't know why I decided that....I think I was trying to figure out a way to wear the lace shirt.  =P  I have a pink one in the exact same style.  I sometimes buy the same pieces in several colors.  >_<

I thrifted this brand new purse from Goodwill for $6, and what amused me the most about it was the fact that it was made from candy wrappers!

This purse would retail for over $50 on Etsy, and though I would like to make one myself, I recognize all the time and effort this would take, plus, I don't eat candy, so it would be difficult to collect that many wrappers.  Maybe I'd used Flamin' Hot Cheetos bags.  Mmmm.  =P Anyway, most of all, I lack the skills to make this!

Dress - Thrifted
Lace Shirt - Target
Belt - H&M
Necklace - Gifted
Shoes - Sears
Purse - Thrifted

So, over the weekend, specifically Saturday, the hubby and I played badminton for almost 2 hours.  I had a Groupon for a full day of playing at a facility dedicated to badminton.  I don't know if badminton counts as a "sport", but it's the only "sport" I am decent at and actually willing to participate in.  Hahaha.  Anyway, with just under 2 hours of play time, even after 2 days, I am still sore all over!  Sooooooooo out-of-shape!  >_<   But, we've decided that we will go once a week, since we had so much fun!  It might just be my only form of exercise for the week.  =P  For shame!

Also, I had the hubby help me carve this:

It's a turtle watermelon!  I got to use the melon-baller again!  It's not often I get to use that sucker.  =P  This watermelon came with an assortment of other fruit and veggie goodies from my local CSA.  Hooray for locally grown produce!!  =D

  7. @Olyvia - I actually have no idea what type of wrappers these are. The only clue I could see is "TAC" and a letter "P". The lettering for the wrappers appear all over inside of the purse, but it's just plain black on the outside. >_< I'd probably have to take it apart to find out for sure! And, we both know if I were to do that, I would never be able to put it back together! Hahaha. =P

@Nemo - Thanks for stopping by. Lace tops can be affordable. It just depends where you go to find them! Good luck with that!

@Kristine @ JandMs Eye Candy - Hi Kristine! Thanks for stopping by!

    @t - Thanks!

@SewPetiteGal - Yes, intricate is indeed the word! I bet it took hours upon hours! (Or, maybe that would just be if *I* attempted something like this, in which case it would be days and days!)

@aki! - Thanks! It's pretty neat! You should try it, as it would certainly be a crowd-pleaser!

@Indie.Tea - Thanks! Looks like you are used to making much more intricate things though! =D
